Privacy Policy

Scope and our role
This policy explains how Human Skills Accreditation, LLC (“beH”) handles personal information across the Site, our assessment tools, the accreditation process, and credentialing. It applies to site visitors, organizational contacts, applicants, reviewers and evaluators, participants, and credential earners.
Two different roles
Where we decide why and how personal information is used — running the Site, managing applications, calibrating reviewers, issuing credentials — beH is the controller (or, under US state law, the “business”).
Where a school, district, or employer engages us to assess its own people and directs what happens to their data, beH acts as a processor or service provider for that organization. In that case the organization’s own privacy notice governs the relationship with its people, and our handling is set by our written agreement with them. If you are a participant sponsored by an organization, start with that organization for access or deletion requests; we will support them in responding.
Where it comes from
From you — forms, emails, assessments, evidence, calls, and events.
From your organization — when a school, district, or employer enrols you, nominates you as a contact, or submits evidence that names you.
Automatically — cookies and server logs when you use the Site, as described in Section 07.
From service providers — our accreditation platform, email and scheduling tools, and payment processor, acting on our instructions.
From public and professional sources — limited business-contact information used to identify potential reviewers or institutional partners.
How we use it
Respond to inquiries and hold eligibility and scope conversations.
Administer applications, review cycles, site verification, monitoring, and renewal.
Score assessments and produce HSQI and baseline results.
Evaluate portfolios, issue and verify credentials, and maintain the Register.
Assign reviewers, run conflict-of-interest checks, and deliver reviewer training and calibration.
Handle appeals, complaints, and investigations into credential or Seal misuse.
Invoice, collect payment, and keep accounting records.
Maintain the security, integrity, and availability of our systems and detect fraud.
Improve the Standards, rubrics, and HSQI methodology, and produce sector benchmarks and research — in de-identified, aggregate form, as described in Section 10.
Send service messages, and — where you have opted in or the law otherwise permits — occasional updates about beH. Every marketing message carries an unsubscribe link.
Comply with law and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Children and student data
beH does not offer accounts or assessments directly to children. Where a K–12 school or district engages beH, students participate through that institution and beH acts as its processor and, where applicable, as a school official with a legitimate educational interest under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), under the institution’s direct control.
In that role we commit that:
student information is used only to provide the contracted services, and never for advertising or profiling;
obtaining any parental or guardian consent required under COPPA, state student-privacy law, or institutional policy is the institution’s responsibility, and we will supply the information it needs to do so;
parents and eligible students exercise access and correction rights through the institution, and we will support the institution in responding;
student data is deleted or returned at the end of the engagement, on the schedule in our agreement; and
we will not re-disclose student data except as the institution directs or the law requires.
If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact contact@beh.life and we will delete it.
